We come back with an update on the situation of our summer project – #weRIDE.
Unfortunately, the authorities do not support us, and furthermore, they continue to sabotage our attempts to develop the area sustainably through our summer project, weRIDE – Muntele Mic.
Last year, after winning the lawsuit against Turnu Ruieni City Hall, we were optimistic that things would improve. Another year has passed, and the city hall was supposed to comply with the court’s decision and provide us, among other things, with the necessary documentation to build a Bike Park. We tried to contact them, but nothing… no response. This forced us to initiate another enforcement procedure against them.
More details here:
In 2019, we started to develop several bike trails, based on the approval we obtained in 2018 from ANANP (National Agency for Protected Natural Areas).
Let us remind you what happened:
The Environmental Guard, another state organization, decided that the excavation works for the bike trails were done illegally, which forced us to close the existing trails in August 2021.
“It is clear to us that their interest is to sabotage our investment and keep the area underdeveloped… Why? We still haven’t found out concretely to this day. All we can do now is wait for justice to be served. The more we try to seek justice ourselves and accelerate the development of the area, the deeper we sink into the enigma of ‘Muntele Mic – a resort of national interest.’ It is a shame for the time wasted, during which we could have accomplished so many beautiful things for tourists to enjoy and from which the local community could benefit with job opportunities, education, and sustainable development, with a long-term focus.” – Cristian Dunca
However, tourists who wish to visit Muntele Mic during the summer season of 2023 can enjoy the following:
• eBike tours
• relaxation at SkyLounge Romania terrace
• hiking with Move Mountains
• summer camps with Pensiunea Aventura
• a good night’s sleep at Montis Hotel & Spa
• a walk to Cruce (historical monument)
• helicopter flights to admire the view of Munții Țarcu
